the fact that it has been tested extensively in super taikyu for refined aerodynamics However, from what is being said, the quality refinement is not there, yet

Well, I guess I need to step up and defend my J's Type-S kit. I bought my kit from Evasive and I don't know if it is one of the "first batch" as mentioned earlier, but as far as fit and finish is concerned, it was nearly pefect out of the box.

I bolted it on the car to drive it to the body shop (it was black already). My body guy was very impressed with the quality of the fitment and aside from a little bit of prep sanding, he said there was nothing that needed to be done.

I didn't use the sideskirts (because I could just envision them getting stepped on), and to be honest, the fitment of those looked like they would take a little work. Otherwise, I am still extremely happy with the kit in terms of quality and looks and have received nothing but positive comments.

I think the kit looks good, and like anything that is made with a mold some will be better than others. For the price you would think you would get items that need little to know prepping for fitment (for paint its cool, but fitment should be good out of the box IMO).

Someone above posted regarding old Mugen Aero parts VS New and I would have to agree, the older Mugen stuff fit like a glove where as the new stuff does not seem to be made up to the same standard . It is still very good stuff just lacking in the extreme quality they once had. Thouhg my splitter fits perfect with no prepwork other than to paint it

Just a couple of questions.

When did you purchase your kit?

A lot of previous buyers had to do a lot of prep (sanding/trimming) around the headlight area. Was that the case for you, as well?

Thanks!

I bought my kit last summer (possibly June, don't remember exactly) and as far as prep work, there was very little. Like I said, I was able to bolt the kit on my car right out of the box, it looked and fit that good.

The fiberglass was a little rough in spots and there was a little sanding that needed to be done in the area where the front bumper bolts on to the fenders (needed to close the gap a little) but other than that it was pretty straightforward. My body guy said it was the one of the nicest kits he's done. I've known him for a long time so I don't think he was blowing smoke.

The headlight area is pretty good. I will admit that one side has a bigger gap under the headlight than the other but it is very close and nothing that sticks out too noticeably. No sanding needed to be done, though.

I will try to post pics if anybody needs them. Jim

Have my J's Type S C/F kit all installed now.

The only problem was that the passenger headlight front bumber section was 1/4 inch too short. I had no choice but to get the body shop to build it up with new fiberglass.

Everything is perfect now, but it cost A LOT!

In combination with my wheels, drop, new paint, etc... I get TONS of looks from all ages. Absolutely love the new look. I'll post pics and a list of my mods after my exterior polish next week.

Side Note: As far as quality, the CF is good. My J's CF intake was disappointing with stress marks, just didn't look like a thousand bucks. My Seibon MG style wing is awesome, great quality.
