just used a tripod and took a shot every 30 seconds. that's about an hour and a half worth of pictures in 17 seconds

Oh haha I thought you used a camera with true interval shooting. You did it the hard way .

With a lot of DSLR's you can set it to whatever interval you choose, so you don't get any camera shake from hitting the shutter button!

yeah I bought the remote with the timer because the 20D doesn't have an interval option and also to prevent camera shake on long exposures. I'm also looking to make a camera rig for the car at some point and needed the remote for that anyway.
