Together 10 years.
Today marks 10 years since I took delivery of my 2001 Silverstone Metallic. When I bought it she had 80K on the clock, but after 10 years and converting her to a garage queen, she has only made it to 138K. We have been through my personal ups and downs together, and even had a bent valve that resulted in a new heart being transplanted under the hood. It continues to be a joy to drive, and she won't be going anywhere anytime soon. It may not be the fastest car, or even the prettiest, but it is the most enjoyable I have driven. Thank you Honda for 10 years of driving bliss - it's like you built a car just for me. She has been auto-crossed, on road courses, and cruised in...never without a smile on my face.
Minor highlight list:
**Invidia V3 and testpipe for 9 years of the 10 I have owned the car (though a Berk HFC and HKS Hi-Power dual are on order, I finally got old).
**Soft top replaced at 110K - clearly wasn't cared for by the previous two owners. Highly recommend moving away from plastic to glass on the rear window.
**Clazzio seat covers at 115K, really spruced up the interior that was starting to show age.
**Carbon fiber trim kit at 125K, again, spruced up an aging interior.
**AP2v1s and Star Specs (225F/255R) make a huge difference in handling for an AP1, the limit is far less abrupt.
**3M headlight restoration process was done at 132K, followed by putting a clear bra on the headlights. Did wonders.
**Finally broke down and purchased a OEM flush mount spoiler at 136K.
Daily drivers who have been the DH for my garage queen:
1992 Ford Ranger (never own one, you will hate yourself).
2005 Honda Civic Value Coupe (Four years of awesome, ran like a top and got great MPG).
2012 Honda Civic Si (so far three years of great fun to and from work).
Here are a few of the many shots I have taken over the years, showing her at various stages and ending with where things sit now. Enjoy.
This is the first pic I ever took of her:
