Typical GM quality cars
every car maker has a lemon every once and awhile. sure some have more than others. i lemon lawed my 2004 civic Ex sedan cause the damn thing leaked like a russian sub, and blew up trannys like it made 1500hp, but appearntly 127hp was too much for it.
i'd still drop my s2k like a bad habbit it for a C6 Zo6.

Yes, gm cars aren't the greatest, but some people feel entitled to take a pot shot at a company based off of one vehicle. Like VersionJDM said, GM isn't the only car company with the occasional lemon. It happens to the best of them. Look at the M3's S54...enough International Engine of the Year awards to take up nearly all 10 fingers, and they're known to go KABOOM.
Just by fact, the reliability goes like this:
1) Japanese cars
2) American cars
3) German cars
Of course there are Korean and many other companies...but they decided to just use the three most popular in this particular study. Believe me german cars are the worst...my dad's best friend finally bought an Acura after being through 3 jettas and a 330ci that practically lived at the service department. I do agree though that every company makes a lemon once in a while, but I stick to jap cars specifically because I have never had any problems after 4 of them.

That's exactly the same thing that happened to me when I blew my motor. I was cruising at 55 mph on I-5 when it happened. Oil level was just fine and I had never hit the rev limiter. Blew a rod bearing in the number two cylinder. Motor was replaced under warranty at 52,000 miles.
