you won't be able to pass emissions with the 2jz cause the car year is newer than the engine lol...

I would never do this to my car. I think the best thing on the S2K is the engine reving up to 9k... that unique 4cyl noise and all the stuff about technology... I don't know.

I like V8's, nothing wrong with that... but get a Z06 and be happy! lol

Lexus carried the 2JZGE until 2005 so the swap is still viable. Just not the 2JZGTE.

I agree i love the sound and the fun of taking the S to 9k thats why on my DD S2000 my tag says FUNAT9K. So thats why i bought a second donor car for this project and as far as the Z06 goes my best friend has one and i can drive it if i need to.

they have different rules for cars that have had engine swaps for car like hot rods and custom cars. I believe that they will make it do a run test on the dyno for emmisions instead of the OBDII test so as long as the engine runs clean I or he should be good.

not in Texas, I bought a skyline shell and planned on putting a 2jz-gte BUT I asked my dmv and they said it needs to pass OBDII. Of course it varies by counties, cities, states so depends on where you are. Some states don't even need emissions testing
