Someone please close this thread since there is no added value anymore.
Its pics like that which absolutely terrify me at the thought of what is likely to happen once the S has a few model years under its belt and prices in the used market decline to the point that the upper echelon of the modded civic crowd starts to get their hands on this beautiful automobile.
I shudder at the thought of seeing what I view as tasteless and excessive mods on s2000's more and more frequently as time passes.
No offense intended, I'm not bashing modded Civics or the person who initiated this thread, but speaking as someone who gave serious consideration to the Boxster S before buying the Honda, I'll certainly begin to rethink my decision the more I see this.
The beautiful thing about the S is it does not need a boatload of aftermarket fiberglass and wings to stand out from the crowd. It's impressive, classy and unique pretty much "as is".
Again, I'm not against personalizing the car to one's own taste, (I've added a few mods myself), but the words "retched excess" come to mind here.
I can see where this might come across as snobbish - not my intent.
Just my $.02.

I didn't notice this was the "Positive Comments Only Forum".
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, just like everyone's entitled to mod their car as they wish. If I like it or don't like it - too bad, that's my opinion! Get over it!
If you wish to draw attention to your car like this, be prepared to take bad remarks along with the good ones. This is not a reflection on ruffryder - obviously he likes what he's done with the car and doesn't care either way about what others think about it. His attitude is a good example to follow.

I think that the problem is when people take it personally, on either side. The poster handled it well, as did many of the people who limited their responses to comments about the car, positive or negative. The problem is with those who bashed him personally for his language skills or for wanting to have his car look this way. But the people who put down others just for criticizing his *car* are just as bad. This is a car board and much of what is discussed here has more to do with opinions and taste rather than facts. Because of this it is important to respect people's opinions, both positive and negative. This is something that applies to this thread, as well as any discussion of any other car including the s2000.
Anyway, that's my *opinion*. Feel free to add yours without being judged by me. I would hope others would feel the same way.
PS, Just to get back on topic a bit, I'll just say that my opinion on the car stands with the post about putting a mullet and the tiger stripes on your kid. Funny stuff.
