All the motorex cars that were "legalized" [ and we say "legalized" because they werent really] and were sold legitimately were allowed grandfather passes and exemption from this new scheme.
So this one is fine to stay in the states.
The R34 is my all time dream car. Nissan should have re released it in the US as the GTR instead of the ugly thing we have now. The only thing that looks good from the GTR is the rear end (which reminds me of the R34) and the brakes.
