What I traded for the Stook
This is the trade I made after only 4 months:
2001 Miata LS

to this
2001 S2000

Now don't get me wrong, I loved my Miata and I wish I could have both but the S2k was what I really wanted.

I had the Spyder for 5 months, I picked up the S2K in November. I too wanted the S2000, my dealer had a red one which they had in their showroom. I went in to buy it and they said the owner was keeping it, which he had said about the last white one he got, but then sold it to a friend of mine. So that kind of pissed me off so I went up the road and bought the Spyder. Five months later the Honda dealer calls and asks if I would be willing to trade the Spyder on a Yellow S2000, I drove it home that night. They gave me $500 less than I paid for the Spyder and I got the S2K for MSRP. So, all ended happy in the long run, I'm much happier with yellow rather than red. Oh yeah and the front plate kinda sucks but I would eventually get a ticket so I guess I gotta live with it. I'm already noticable enough.
Captain:
Did the same thing. Bought a '99 Miata w/sport pkg. and traded it for the S2000. Both are great cars. The S2000 is just greater with more head room and you don't see yourself coming and going.
Plus I live in the birthplace of all the Z3's so its fun watching the look on their faces......

nick, both cars are great looking. i also had a silver spyder with a red interior before i got my silver stook with a red inter ofcourse.
however, i have to admit that the spyder has an amazing handling capability. somehow, as far as handling goes, i felt more comfortable with the spyder on sharp turns than my stook. but again, it might have been due to the fact that it just didn't have much power to slide or skid. i do miss the spyder, but i just can't get enough of stook!

Yes I would agree on the power difference. The Spyder handled well for the car but the S2K has that power lurking that makes you maybe a little more conservative. I spun mine out (S2K) after having it for about a week and that has caused me to be much less aggressive. I've stopped doing power slides but after reading the threads here I feel my mishap was due to cold tires, but I'm still a little nervous of the power.
Nick, Brian Peak here. You car is awsome. I do love my red, but your yellow is kick ass! Got my Comptech exhaust in, sounds great. I'll stop by sometime to let you hear it. I also cleared my headlights. Looks awsome. Have many other goodies on order, will get them soon. Also have the Comptech side skirts on order and need them painted, so you know where I will be going for that. See you then.
