As far as I know, the S2000 took 5 years between the redering stage until 1999 when the production car actually got out.
So, looks like we'll be seeing the NSX-replacement (which won't be called NSX as we believe) way before we see the S2000 replacement, if there is one ... unless Honda is planning to reuse the current platform.

I say build it..... the S is dated by about 4 years already.
Building another S will only move the times forward for the people who have been waiting for a long time for something better.
Pipe dream... but I like the idea.

i wish they stopped production of the s2k after the 04-05 models.
it just isnt as competetive with cars that are coming out nowadays.
i hope the new one is amazing and blows its competition out of the water!!!

I agree with the above. I came into the S community after owning three Subaru's (WRX, STI, LGT) and all of them were modded to an average degree. True, that they all had more power than the S2000, but suspension and handling wise, they cannot compare. In addition, even though they had more power, they also weighed quite a bit more than the S2000.
I think the S2000 is a great car, if you buy the car for what it is, and the value that it provides. It wouldn't be fair to compare to other cars whose purpose is quite different. Again, this is my .02.
