Who's Got The Best Looking S2k?
hey, espentan. how do you like having the windshield tape removed? i have been debating removing it from mine so that the windshield border is silver like yours. was it easy to remove? do you have a pic of your car from the front or front side angle?
stelow, it's not my car, it's TKG 26's. I still have my windshield tape in place, but looking at that picture I realize that it really does look good without it. At least with the hardtop!
Maybe TKG can shed some light on the task of removing it?

espentan, stelow et. al.
removing the tape is as EASY as pumping gas!!!!!!!!
1. open the drivers side door (i'm a righty, so i found it easier from this side).
2. you'll see the end of the tape in the door crack.
3. lift up the edge with your fingernails (make sure the glue comes with it)
4. SLOWLY, pull it STRAIGHT BACK (i.e parallel to the surface), NOT UP (perpendicular to the surface) in small sections at a time - in about 5 minutes, you'll be done.
i actually had a knife handy as i would cut pieces off as i went along - i found it easier to work when you don't have this huge stream of removed tape getting in the way and getting stuck to other parts of the car.
PLEASE NOTE: there has been a lot of talk on the board about some cars not being painted/finished underneath the tape. when you do the first little bit, you will know whether your car has been painted/finished or not. if not, get some glue (not crazy glue, just regular kids glue) and re-fasten the tape back so that it doesn't undo itself over time.
also, depending on the age and colour of your car, you may or may not be happy with the results. i did mine almost immediately after i got it so there is no difference in paint shades. a white car, for instance, may be way off if the car is a year or so old - the white underneath MAY be whiter (newer) than the rest of the car, and may look odd. silverstone is the most worry-free colour (next to black, but there is no sense doing it on a black car anyways).
in the end, you will be doing this -------->
BTW, it looks good against the soft top as well.....
