? i don't have urethane on my car. and no, it has never cracked. I glassed all my fiberglass pieces to metal. it's not just bondo
exactly why i used resin. resin bonds super strong to metal. this is how they build and repair boats. i agree it will crack at some part on the kit, however that seam is so strong that the kit would be smashed into a million pieces before it came apart.
>> FF through the primer. it's all done! however, before I can reveal it to everyone... Mark, yes i would like to make a bet. How much do you willing to wager?
I'll post up the pics afterwards and let the audience be the judge.

No wager needed here Steve, I hope it looks good, but I still know bodywork, and that shit will crack, you cannot bond fiberglass to steel, again, they expand and contract at different rates. That is why it will crack.. . Even well trained bodymen have trouble making that look good and stay in one piece. You are ballsy, but I doubt it will look up to most peoples standards when you are finished. Hope I am wrong, but I have seen people like you try this before with disasterous results. Like cutting the fenders out 3" when only 1" was required, losing all the strength in the underlying fender will cause vibrations resonating into the glass/metal bonded area. My bet is someone else is cleaning up your mess. Bodyshop is working their asses off to get the seams straight, etc. Maybe why it is taking so long to see those photos of the primer coats, hell it should have been painted already if it only needed primer when you posted this up.
In my humble opinion anyway.
teaser time! sorry the weather's not been good. the red flakes in the clear really do stand out and look exceptional, especially at close distances. i'm surprised it turned out this good, as this is the first full car i've ever painted! I've done panels before but never tried anything on this scale. some wetsanding and polishing and it should be mirror smooth!
