I think this falls under the classification of too much money, not enough sense. The gentleman hadn't educated himself in proper motor sports - figured his money was 'smarts enough'.

I get that a lot with the people I work with / for. It's actually a married couple, probably similar to the Viper pair, and he is constantly buying fancy electronics gadgets and destroying them from missuse.
