wanted more straightaway power, wind protection on the freeways, fuel injection, and something for the track. will most likely get an s4r in the near future but need a bigger garage first

the look of the r6 is much sleeker so i imagine the performance to be better.
btw the s4r is very powerfull! i have read a few articles on that and bth i think i would be scared of riding it!
The ducatti isn't technically a monster. I mean yea htey are expensive as hell n' its the lambo of bikes but as far as performance many bikes out due the ducattie except for what the 996 i believe that is A MONSTER.

Ducatis are nice for cruising and posing :-)
In order to be competive on the track you better have a 999 (20K).
The R6 is in every way a better bike, good move on the switch!
I have riden a few Ducatis and never been impressed.
I was going to get a 998 a few years ago, but then I rode my RC51.... just as good, if not better for half!
Here is the list is bikes I have tried out (owned) since moving to cali in 2000
1998 VFR800
1998 VTR1000F
2000 CBR929RR
2001 CBR929RR
2002 CBR954RR
2002 RC51
2002 CBR1100XX
2003 Kawi 636R
2002 Race Prepped GSXR-750
With all of these bikes, I never had one mechanical or electrical problem. Try getting that luck with 9 different ducatis :-)

i know it seems like a bit of a stupid question but really how much dirrerence is there between the monster and the R6???

Here's mine. It's a 1995 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34 with a T04E turbo, fiberglassed in stereo (covered with carpet of course), some 18" Fittipaldi Force rims, + lots more. More pics and detail are on my CarDomain page. My dad's 1974 Triumph TR6 is also there.
