Hi All,

I just joined a local WhatsApp group, and to my amazement, a few of the guys had an ALL red interior, was this ever offered in the US? Having seen thousand of S2000 photos, I have never seen an ALL red interior, granted, it is an acquired taste, I was told it was a factory option. I think that's a "partial red" interior. @Birdybog can you upload a photo of your interior like the one above? My recollection is yours is the rare, distinctive Full Red interior (under 3% of the US cars). (I just had my interior professionally detailed cleaned and it came out Boring Black the same color it started with. )

All red was only available 02-03 and only in certain colors, berlina (02-03), silverstone (03), sebring (02-03), gpw (02).

 

Would love to know stats how many cars came out with this ALL red (excluding steering wheel and control panel). Too much red for me personally, but interesting none-the-less. I would love to have me some all red carpet, all red seats, but red/black door cards, the standards all black dashboard, it is nice to dream

 

Data for the USA cars is here (somewhere). From my notes:

The only Full Red seems to be 2002 with White, Black, or Sebring Silver exterior, and 2003 Sebring Silver or Silverstone exterior (no black or white). (Full Red, includes seats/carpets/doors/dash/rear trim.) Several variations of RED/Black like the car in the photo which is not Full Red -- at least not in the US market.

There was also a Full Suzuka Blue interior (only with that exterior); there is probably a Full Black but I don't find in my notes. My Boring Black(tm) interior had a silver radio door not black.

AP1’s with the full red or blue interior had a matching radio door. AP2’s got the silver radio door.

I've seen the red radio door (and the blue). Someone in the past few weeks posted a note looking for the red. Not sure if he found one.

Given the extremely low volumes, I doubt they ever would . . .

 

As usual, I was wrong What is more surprising is the all red interior with New Formula Red, an absolute overdose of red I guess . . . . I doubt the local dealer here sold anything but silver or black colors, any other color has been imported.
