you'll have to remove the carpet as this replaces the carpet

and here is a tip...look at the leather center console cover you purchased because chances are there is no need to mess w/the dash

you see I sold my leather console cover a couple years ago and like most people that uninstalled it I ripped it right out at the radio door because removing the dash or lifting it wasn't really feasible...so checking out your cover should give you the answer

do a search and you should be able to find some pics of the removed piece (ripped off at the radio door)....and if yours isn't I'd cut it to make your life easier

I would have thought that this console cover could just go straight over the center carpet? and just tuck it up under the radio door / dash.

Yeah I just cut it so that it would still stick under the radio door trim but not didn't bother removing everything to have it go all the way back under the radio area etc. Much easier that way.

thanks so much for the reply, so did you remove the center carpet? also do you have to remove the rear storage box/console?

Yes I removed the carpet. I can't remember about the storage box. Pretty sure you have to loosen it so you can lift the bottom up to get the cover underneath.

sorry for all these Qs but by mean removing the carpet, you have to also cut out the OE carpet right? the leather cant fit ontop without removing the carpet?

thanks
