I just purchased some 2009 red/black seats for a my 04 GPW...my question is about the console leather and the door panels. Are the reds on the 09 the same as 05+? It looks like the 09 is a little brighter red whereas the 04-05 red/black seemed darker. But that is based on pics online, not seeing them in person.

Any help would be useful.

As for the carpet, I'm going with black and I believe that stayed the same, true?

Are you sure it's from a 2009? First if that's true the seats won't fit your MY04. Second the Seats from 2009's have red fronts with red backs. MY04-07 the Seats had red inserts with black bolsters. If the interior donor was indeed a 2009, then the door panels would have black inserts and not red. The only thing that's red in MY08-09 is the seat faces and carpets. I also think 2006+ Carpets are different than prior years since the floor of the cars are a little different because of the SRS upgrades in 2006+.

The Red interiors on 2000-2003 are the same they are brighter and called "Vivid red." 04-09 is just "red" and when I compare mine to my friends '00 his is a little brighter. If you are really really concerned I would source interior pieces from the same car.

 

upon further inspection, seats are 06-07...solid headrest, red center, black bolsters. Door panels are AP2 black with red inserts. I ended up going with black console leather...still looking for black carpet. And for the seats, i know the pass. side will need the rails switched

i don't know about the red being the same but i have a suzuka ap1 with blue interior and my blue ap2 door panels were a perfect match
