Default Backyard Special seat rails…

I just unpacked my backyard special seat rails designed to lower the car seat 20 mm, and saw a video that you should not buy cheap knock off‘s. They were talking about buddy club but this is a different company. The instructions are all in Chinese, and I just wanna make sure I’m not putting something unsafe in the car. I want good welds, and it looks strong and substantial but is the backyard special a good one to use? Would hate to have to do it over again with a different set.

Your wording is a bit confusing but are you saying the BYS brackets you got came with instructions that were in Chinese? Where did you get yours from?
ordered mine from RHD Japan, they were shipped from Japan, came with Japanese instructions and have excellent quality.

I got them from evasive motorsports and I guess it is Japanese. Sorry I didn’t know the difference.

Any idea how you hook up both electrical hook ups? I guess ones for the seatbelt and one is for the airbag sensor. I don’t see any mount on the new rails for the airbag sensor.

Thanks

Default Finished

I had a little problem with the electrical connections but finally got it solved. Installed the lower seat rail and I love it! I was expecting the seat back to look lower but it doesn’t. Turns out that they designed this one better by lowering the bottom and keeping the back of the seat the same. There’s a small gap between the bottom and top cushions but that’s OK because I think it works better this way. Also had several suggestions on the electrical connections and decided to zip tie them to the frame of the seat. The shop I bought it from said just to leave the sensor out and reset the airbag light. Why not just let it do its job? The one I had trouble with was a seat position sensor for the airbag unit.

anyway, I got it installed and I love the lower seat position! I highly recommend the new backyard special seat lowering rail for the driver side on the S2000.

Can we use these with other seats or is this strictly designed for OEM seats?

It's Designed for use with OEM seats and OEM style mounting. I had one on my 2006 for many years. Good quality.
