Default Behind the seats

What is behind the seats? my05 has a couple clips and screws missing. Why would previous owner remove the panels and what is back there? Any ideas?
Thanks

Top of the fuel tank is behind there (or lets just say trunk) and the clips missing are for hangers. Like shirts and what not. I have used them once.. Like you know on most cars how they have them by the oceant handle? And your clothes hang on whichever window that is.

Thanks for the response....didn't want to take a panel out for no reason and don't expect to need the hangers now that I know what was there.

I found that Eddie Baure has some "travel kits/bags" that fit great there. I store maps and other flat items there such as an iPad or spare ammunition magazines. I also keep a fire extinguisher (tall narrow one) behind there on the floor; it fits great with the rails. Don't know its there but if you need one, you NEED one. I have used them twice in my life (on other vehicles-not mine) and it was a real life saver.
I have the seat all the way back and there is still room.
