Apologies for bringing up an older thread, but I bought the material to cover the upper portion of my door panels. The shop I bought the stuff from said the pieces would be difficult due to the complex curves. I was hoping you could take a look at your panels and give me your opinion since you have done some great work with your car already. I bought 3k 2x2 cf cloth and will be using system three epoxy. I watched a lot of youtube and read a ton too. Just hoping to get specific feed back on these parts. They seem far less complex than the side view mirror the english guy does on you tube...but I may be missing something. The thin foam backing is still in place and I intend ti leave it there. It will provide proper thickness and is compatible with the epoxy.

Thanks!

carbonmods uk make this work looks too easy because they run a business to sell this kit. in fact, it's not an easy task for everyone. i know some people keep having bubbles after applying resin.

My fear is wasting the material and screwing up door panels. I am thinking of building a template for a radiator cooling panel and starting relatively simply. Once I get comfortable with the CF and epoxy, I'll give the upper portion of the door panels a go. Oh well. The upper door panels would be a much more visually stimulating effort, but the radiator panel will be fun too.

Thanks for the thread jack duuuuude! lol jk. The cluster looks great man! I actually debated for about a week after making the piece that I made and decided against, simply bc the material isnt that cheap and some of those bends are pretty extreme. To be able to get it to seat correctly and keep the weave pattern even would be a Effn Nightmare. This is the First time I have made anything like this before so when I attemped to do the shifter trim piece it actually look me 3 trys to get it. You have to cut it mulitple differnt ways so that way you can get it stick right so you can layer the appoxy. Also I did this the old fashion way with my hands and books and weights lol I didnt feel like buying a vaccum sealer which would cut down on quit a bit of time.

Im am kind of lost on which portion of the door you are trying to accomplish this on. Are we talking about the piece that meets the window seal? Or are you talking about the piece that comes in yellow and black on in the CR models? Im not entirely sure how well this will stick to a foam piece as well. Im not sure how the appoxy will take to it etc. You can PM me if you would like and I could try to explain it a little more to you... But you have done exactly what I did search youtube and google (that bitch knows everything).

Nice CF work, but are those paddle shifters?... What are you running for transmission, or motor for that matter?

Gotcha. I would have assumed that if there wasn't also an empty shifter boot. Haha
