Default Centre console trim polish

Hi all,

Just got my first S2000 last week and loving it. I'm looking to tidy up just a few bits and pieces, one being the metal surround that goes around the gear gator and two switches.

At the moment it looks grey in colour but I can see some nice shiney metal underneath where it's worn that's crying out to be polished.

The question is how do I remove this trim from the centre console to polish it.

Any advise would be really appreciated.

You don't have to remove it... just eaither tape around it or be very careful... I left mine in the car w/ no protection and polished it by hand and vacuumed the crap it left afterwards

Would rubbing alcohol do the trick? I was thinking of removing the trim and using a polishing wheel on the end of a drill which worked perfect on the gear knob allthough that was easy to remove.

Before I buy some, has anyone tried this method to remove the grey back to shiny metal.
Cheers

Cheers Sparrow, I'll pick some up and give it a go. Should be a lot easier than removing the trim

If that dont work take a heating gun (hair dryer) and a flat head and pop the two circle clips out and you can sand & repaint. Also loosen the flat silver clips.

The rubbing alcohol worked perfect, took about half an hour and the finish is exactly what I was looking for
Thanks Sparrow, great tip
