Default changing seats

I'm having a little trouble navigating the website. Sorry ahead of time if this subject been brought up a hundred times. I'm trying to replace the seats on my 2006 S2K for the earlier model oem seats (mesh headrest) in order to mount some speakers behind the headrest. My understanding is that they may not be a direct swap. Can anyone tell me what additional equipment I might need?

If you have 06+ s2000 then is there a problem with your roll bar speakers?

To answer your question: the seat rails are different so they will need to be changed over. I don't recall if they will bolt right onto the other seats.......I'm sure somebody else can chime in.

As I understand it the wiring under the seats concerning proximity sensors for SRS system and buckle sensors also have to be rewired through the new seats. Don't people buy new aftermarket seats all the time? Are these sensors necessary or can they be unplugged and disabled. I'm being told different things from the dealership. Some say that the seats might be a direct bolt on replacement but others say the passenger seat rails are different and the holes won't line up. There is nothing wrong with headrest speakers just wanted to add some additional 6.5" and my original 2006 drivers seat is ripping and ugly. This kinda sux, I already bought another driver seat. just sitting in my house.

I think your right, the passenger side bolts will not line up. Seatbelt is attached to the rails so it will swap in. Pull the seat and see what happens....
