Default DIY: Glove Box Organizer

Didn't see a DIY on one of these so I decided to make one.

So here's the story. I saw one of those Modifry Glove Box Organizers online and I thought that it was a neat accessory. I just couldn't pull the trigger and pay $20 for something I believed I could make. Plus, I like doing little projects like these so I decided to take a whack at it. The thing is, I lagged it for so long and I eventually forgot about it.

One day, my friend sends me a picture of a organizer that he made for his s2000. This quickly got me fired up to one up him and make it better. The thing about our glove box's is that it is NOT a perfect square/rectangle. It has weird angles.

I used his model to make mine a better fit, so I have to give him credit.

Tools/Materials needed:

Exacto knife / box cutter
Project boards (Preferably black, available at arts and crafts stores)
Wood glue (I recommend E-6000, because it dries clear and virtually inseparable once dried)
Ruler
Pencil

You will have to cut out these 3 pieces. (Right side is the front side)

Quantity: 1

Quantity: 1 (Yes, that says 1 1/2")
Also, that notch on the top right corner, that will be the front top. The glove box latch goes there.

Quantity: 2 (Wider portion faces out)

Put them together:

^This is a picture of it before glue was applied.

After glue: (CD's can fit into the left column)

*NOTE: The edges do not usually cut out straight, unless you have a table saw. They are uneven. Use all four corners or the project board to get most of the smooth edges. If you have a black project board, you can use electric tape on the edges to make them look clean.

I would just rather buy one that acutally looks like it belongs there. Sorry, not feeling it. I think I paid $15 for mine.

The glovebox organizer sold by Modifry is a quality piece. The plastic looks like it belongs there, not like hacksawed foam core.

I would probably plasti-dip the whole thing black so it doesn't look as tacky. Thumbs up for effort
