Default Driver kick panel

I took the driver side kick panel off to check out my new ecu. But now I can't seem to get it back on properly. It looks flush, but I know it's not because it doesnt go over the hood release lever (it previously did). Any suggestions?

You have to extend the hood release handle to fully open to wiggle the panel over it so the handle goes through the hole and then you can get it flush and sitting properly.
