Default Rust in dash bracket

Hi i recently tried to install some stereo and the metal part which the stereo head-deck bracket screws onto seems very rusted.
should I be alarmed in any way or is it a common thing ?
Just worried the rust would move onto other parts of the car.

Thanks guys

It is common as it is uncoated steel, you can spray coat it with a rust proofing material if you like. I would say much of the dashboard under-support would be in a similar condition as it is all the same material used under the dash. It is just surface rust, it would probably take 100 years to rust through ?
