Bumping this old thread to find out about seat replacement options.
So ive been on the market for S2K and almos all have upperbolster wear (through the coating) and lower bolster wrinkling and deformation.
But its mostly the driver side. so I have a few questions
1) can you disassemble the passenger seat and rails and attach to a driver side one, or are they assymetric and unable to swap?
2) how much can a little dye and protectant replenish upper bolster wear and cracking? does this need to be professionally adressed- if so how much should i expect?
Thanks in advance

The perfect match for the OEM red seats is Barn Red by Apple Barrel, available at Walmart for $1. Their black also works great.

Great stuff guys thanks for the info.
On the barn red is that for all years or just AP1 Vs Ap2?

I've used it on AP1 and I'm pretty sure the leather color is the same for AP1 and AP2. They sell 2 or 3 shades of red, it's easy to mix if the AP2 color is a little different.
Post some Before & After pics so we can see your results.

I read all the posts on S2KI about this before asking the owner of my upholstery and soft-top shop (Classic Vinyl Repairs, Wilmington NC) today. The owner of this highly-regarded shop, who looks to be around 60, confirmed that all the stuff we wondered about is leather--seat fronts, all of it (not the backs), center console elbow rest, steering wheel, shift boot, door card inserts. Another staffer said most shift boots are leather because vinyl doesn't work as well for that application. This is good info because of course it tells me what maintenance is proper for what.
The parking brake handle is rubber or something similar, with a pattern stamped in it. The door grab handles are some kind of plastic, same thing.
