Any luck with the center console installation instructions? Does the leather materal need to be removed to install the alcantara or do you apply in place? I haven't experimented with mine yet to investigate.

He's got the install instructions on his web site already. They are good, but they are for an AP2, so I still don't know how I'm supposed to put back the arm rest after I've cut it off.

You can try melting the plastic back together but I just keep my center console as 2 pieces now.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, but I'm still a little confused. I've never taken it off before...so, are you saying that even though you've cut the plastic welds to get it off, it still will stay on properly? I don't care if it's two pieces, like you said, as long as it stays on.

I would buy these but I'm concerned with potential removal.... Are the pieces removable? If it is removed will it damage the factory pieces? Removal of glue residue??

............ would hate to ruin the interior if things don't work out..

yep!
itll still snap on in the car.
the elbow pad has 4 of its own snaps and i think the front part has a couple.
they all stay on just like it would if you didnt cut them apart.

the only thing i cant undo on mine is the door panel inserts.
i just found a cheap set of inserts in the classifieds so i still have my stock ones.

all i have are the door panels, center console, elbow pad, ebrake, and shift boot.

i have some visor covers on the way i think.

As i wrote in the other thread the arm rest itself still has the plastic tabs on the bottom that clip into the actual transmission tunnel but it does not clip back onto the center console. It will work without gluing the armrest back onto the center console but for a better install you can re glue the armrest to the center console and then push it in so all tabs clip in.
