Default More hidden stuff

I was installing some sound deadening material in the between-the-seats compartments and tripped a little hanger of some sort in the "beverage holder" described on page 78 of owners manual. It pops up from the passenger side, is about an inch long and has clip-like c-rings on the bottom. The owners manual (2006) makes no reference to it. I would reckon it to be a wire guide apparatus of some sort, but from or to where? Any ideas? This car continues to excite and amaze me.

I might be, but it doesn't look like much of a divider. It is a trangular shape with 3 raised dots on the top when up, and 2 c-rings on the bottom. It is installed in the bump inside the cup holde next to the base of the emergency brake. When you push near the point, it pops up to horizontal. I would post a picture if I knew how.

Indeed it does. Best guess is that it is to keep beverages from falling over when only carrying one. It is indeed a great shot. That's why I stole it from Road and Track

I dont actually use it. I just lean a water bottle down, so it gives clearance for shifting. With a water bottle straight up it makes shifting a pain.

It is to divide beverages. I'm sure I saw it in the owner's manual somewhere.

You sir is a genius, I've never thought of that before. I whine every time I have to shift with a bottle occupying the cup holder upright.
