Default OEM Steering wheel extension

Hi guys, I'm thinking about buying a S2K but since I'm 6'3" with long legs I couldn't be comfortable in the car. I was thinking really the problem is the lack of adjustment in the steering column. Has anyone put an extension on the factory steering wheel? I think that would solve the problem.

Thanks
Mike

I had the same problem but solved it with:

Nardi steering wheel with small nrg hub + quick release

and

Custom seat brackets + bride seat

equals

comfortable gangster look I was going for

Well I really don't want to loose the airbag that's why I was wondering if there are any oem steering extension.

Backyard Special seat brackets might help. Lowers the seat about an inch. It's not a huge difference, but it helps a little.

Yeah thought about that as well but like you said, it's not much more room.

There is a thread somewhere on the boards that details a modification to the stock seat that helps the taller folk.

i was surprised how much difference it made with that 1 inch...

but, quick release and a smaller steering wheel were much better in giving me more room...

i have the same issue but what i would like to do is raise the steering wheel about a half inch or so to make it a little higher. it would also give me a better line of sight of the gauge cluster. if anyone has done this, let me know

has anyone found a solution for this? i'd also LOVE to be able to move the OEM wheel a bit closer to me (as well as up a bit). do not want to lose OEM wheel / airbag.

I am confused what do you mean by extension? Is seems like you want to move it towards you? If that's the case that may be more dangerous for the airbag? Also it won't make the car feel less cramped it will make it worse because the wheel will be closer to your body. Honestly the BYS seat rails make a nice difference by sitting you lower. More room for your legs and you get a better view out of the window.
