Default Recaro pole position

Just received my recaro pole position. Ordered from evasive and shipping was lightning fast.
I opened the box and pulled out my black leather pole position. Quality was superb and the fit was amazing.
The only drawback I have come across is the ass cushion. Such cheap cushioning, I thought I would at least get a firmer cushion maybe a memory foam. U can squeeze the cushion in your hand. Basically your ass is on the fiberglass shell with no shock absorber.
I'm going to AutoMat in Hicksville tomorrow to get a much firmer cushion that I can insert where the original cushion is.
I am highly disappointed that recaro has not taken this into consideration since it is such an important component in comfort.

The cushions on my brides are not great either. Let's see some pics.

So I went to automat in Hicksville. I picked up two cushion material. One was 11/4" very firm foam that I shaped like the recaro cushion and shoved both back in.
For the outer leg cushion I installed a medium-firm cushion about 11/2". I shaped that as well and shoved both back in.
Recaro gives you a tiny pocket cushion to install for lumbar support, I just threw it on the floor and pissed on it. After that I shaped my own piece from the medium-firm cushion and wedged it in the lumbar section underneath the leather backing.
Finally, sat back down into the seat and it is better than what I had imagined. At least 5x better after the modifications.
I sit firmly and comfortably, not sitting on the fiberglass shell. I highly recommend everyone doe this. I'll post some pics later. I'll have to pull it apart

i like your decision to pursue this and know exactly what you mean. When i have some free time and less projects on my hand this will definitely be on my list to do! May i ask how much u paid for the foam?

Looks great, nice work!

I used to have Recaro PP's in my car, and I also found the padding to be pretty crap. The padding in my new Sparco's is way better than the Recaro's and Brides.
