I'm going to be finishing them up this weekend. I will try to shoot a poorly narrated video of the steam cleaning process.

Here is how it turned out after round 1 of steaming. It took the sheen away and made it matte like I wanted but it didn't lighten the leather much. I made a video that I have to edit but I will upload it to YouTube tomorrow. I don't think I will be able to match the repaired bolster but I wasn't expecting perfection. Honestly, I may just dye both seats after they are steamed fully. Prep is key especially on red.

The leather is soft and supple, clean and uniform except for my holster. Lol The overhead lighting makes it look shinier than it is.

Thanks for sharing! It definitely took most of the shine away. Looking forward to seeing that steam cleaning video asap Please share the link here when it's ready

Thanks for the video! I could clearly see the sheen coming off the seat as you cleaned it with steam. The video did make it look shiny because of the lighting but I guess it would look more matte in natural light.

No problem. They are indeed matte looking now. I think what scares people is thinking the dye just wipes off which is why I show the cloth after wiping it down. I haven't put them in the car yet but I think they will look good in sunlight. Spring is rolling in VERY slowly this year.

Thanks for doing the video a Steve. Zip tie around the cloth might have helped avoid burning the hand. I need to do this with my tan seats.

I hear ya. I'm gonna try this on my seats. That being said I didn't feel they were as "sticky" or hard to slide my fingers across like you found on yours.
Looking forward to those natural light pics
