Default redlinegoods wheel wrap with foam

So the leather on my 02 wheel was looking long in the tooth and I thought a re-wrap would freshen up the interior. Besides, how hard could it be (famous last words).

After removing the wheel, I commenced to removing the oem wrap.

Once the wrap is off, you'll have the oem foam and can start adding the redline goods foam. You just cover the wheel and use a very VERY sharp blade to shave off the excess to make the overlap and transitions smooth.

Redlinegoods sends the wrap pre-stitched however when I looked at their youtube tutorial, I couldn't make out how they did it. I ended up pulling their stitching, ordering some leather pre-waxed thread from amazon, and stitching the wrap oem style.

I'd say the whole process takes 6-8 hours and your hands WILL be sore. I still need to use the heat gun and some moisture the tighten the fit up some places. I'd say the fitment is good, but the documentation on the stitching is very poor.

Yes, the interior is a mess. I'm in the process of installing an aem datastream gauge, aem fail safe, and alcohol injection.

I remember when Honda sold OEM leather wraps for their steering wheels. Always a worthwhile mod.

Did you use glue at all? When I did mine, I had crappy wrinkles at 3 and 9 right over my thumb. I was pretty disappointed.

I didn't use any glue since the oem wrap didn't, however I feel the fitment is poor in the 3 and 9 positions by the thumbs as well. Overall, it's okay. Not as horrible as my ebay leather seat skins.
