Default repadded arm rest

whats up everyone, i had a spare ap1 center console to play with, so i decided to try to add some padding to the arm rest so its more comfortable. I know there have been other posts and diys for recovering this piece, but ive never seen one that showed any added foam. hope this can help.

Started out with a slightly chewed up arm rest.

Took it all apart pulled off the old foam, and cleaned it up.

Cut out some 1/2" foam and used spray on adhesive to stick it on, and cleaned up the edges.

used the adhesive spray to glue the new vinyl piece together. made sure to keep everything tight and here it is.

total cost was about 23bucks, but thats definitely enough for me to do about 4 more, with extra spray left over.

what do you guys think? tips, opinions, suggestions appreciated. this is the first time i ever did something like this

I'll have installed pics up tomorrow after i get some screws to hold it in.

Think its possible to do for the door panel arm rest as well?

Nice, but you badly need a console cover to cover that ugly carpet! One of the first things I did.
