Seat pan and rail rust...best way to neutralize?
So I decided to take my seats out and get the carpet detailed. A few of the seat bolts (I don't have locks) were rusted pretty good so I had to use my big dog Makita impact wrench on them. All of the bolts are completely rusted and should be replaced. If anyone has the part number, please let me know.
I didn't take a look at the seat pan too well but it doesn't look easy to remove. I guess I could sand it down and re-paint it?

All Hondas have that to some extent. On the seat pan I would sand it down lightly, spray it with rust converter, and paint with a rustproof primer. On the rails I would clean them up as well and paint where needed, and lubricate the tracks.
That sounds like a good start. The rails aren't too bad but the bolts were really beat up, so once I took the seats out I noticed the carpet has some rust stains now which is unfortunate.
haha that's a good one! It seems like the cabin has had some sort of condensation issue over the years. I'll also get some water in if it rains so it seems inevitable at this point when it comes to keeping moisture and water out of the car. It's likely the seals on my convertible top. Even the frame is quite rusted and should probably be replaced along with a new top which has a few small slits in it.

My seat bolts are rusted as well and I had to use a freaking impact driver to get them loose. Looking to order a new set for both seats once I can locate the part number(s). I figure it's the better/safer bet when dealing with seats. A cheap replacement bolt from your local parts store doesn't sound like a solid and safe solution.
