Default Seat Reskins

First post so dont light me on fire just wanted to post some pics of my seats after reskining them. I had a hard time finding real pics of actual reskins. So here are a few of mine to help others who are looking to reskin. I got mine from Ebay (took a big leap) the seller was lc-0801 and they cost $499 ($16 shipping). He seems to come and go since I received mine last week the covers are gone but that has happened before. I also installed seat heaters at the same time. Not a small project but I think anyone who takes their time could do in a weekend. "WARNING BEWARE THE RAZOR SEAT PAN--LOST SOME FINGERPRINTS FROM TWO FINGERS!!!"

I used cable ties to replace the hog rings easier to deal with a NAPA guy gave me the hint...way easier just tuck the larger "locks" into the foam so they do not stick up.I also replaced the seat foam as the old was breaking down.

I cannot warn you enough to avoid the rim of the seat pan.

Pros-1.whole set is cheaper than any one piece of the OEM stuff.
2.I wanted red accent thread.
3.The skins fit amazingly well pics were taken right after but since sittin in the sun they seem to be a little tighter (not must but a little).
4.Im not a leather install king and I managed to pull it off so anyone can.
5.My OEMs are still in great shape and can sell..yeaaa any takers?

Cons-1.Shipped from China direct so it took a couple of weeks to get.
2.covers were marked from the factory with silver marker-easily removed with a cloth and some tirefoam..but still another step.
3.The middle perferations were all punched but had some "chads" left...I removed by pushing them thru with a small awe.
4.Lost alot of blood and skin to that damn seat pan...Curse you!!!!

The upper hoop is handled the same way as stock velcro around the arch with two hog rings at the base. Looks like someone took their time and decontructed a seat and copied it. the one thing you have to transfer over is the steel wire from the originals. I also bought 3 feet of copper wire and used that at all attachment points as the material seems like it may rip without suppot over time. This step may be overkill but i just want to do it once.

Side note anyone know what would be a good asking price for my OEM covers. I was going to seal them up incase these dont work out but that may be a waste of money. Pics represent them well they are in good shape.

Black seat skins I don't think more than maybe $100 personally but hard to say.

I bought some red Oem ones for $150 about 4 years ago.

A couple of people asked how the reskins have been doing. They seem to be holding up real good. There are still some areas that are not perfectly smooth but only at the shoulders. Maybe I've just gotten used to them but to me it seems like the leather has settled into the shape of the seat and the shoulder areas don't seem to bother me. But it may some.

I'm pretty sure I got the seat foam from Majestic Honda. I read in the forums a lot of guys rebuild their foam using new foam. I'm not sure if I have the talent to do a good job so I just bought new. Looks like the have it listed for $191 dollars.
