Let us know the kids address so the entire forum of s2ki can beat this kid down. Thieves really piss me off.

Think I'm going to get a oem hardtop this year. This seat stealing is spreading all over the place.

Yea I know right! I Never thought it would happen to me but it did. Do not I repeat do not let anyone you don't know see what you have in your car unless they don't know where you live, but even then they can spot you on the street and follow you home!! Catch my Ruger p95 9mm hollow points!!!! Fuuckerss!!!

Can I offer a cash settlement if the adjuster is going to total it? If I get the cash settlement, am I obligated to take it to their shop or show them what shop I took it to? To what percent do they consider the car totaled? I want to get racing seats and maybe even a hard top.

your car is to old for them to buy you new parts from honda so they will try to see whats the going rate for used ones and a new top.

honestly this may be the best thing that ever happened to you - you can buy a pair of sport buckets with rails for 640 and aused top for 200+ or a hardtop and own the car for whatever the insurance offers it to you 2000 vs what ever you owe.

people that talk about seat locks, that doesnt help your slashed top or whatever they may try to do to remove the seats.

Damn, and my seats were in excellent condition too! I just hope they don't total it and settle with me or else it's goodbye s2k and HI to a new different car. I'd be good with at least $7k settlement

same thing happened to my 01' cept they stole my whole car but they recovered it. They took my gauge cluster, ecu, seats, wheel caps, and of course slashed up the top and broke the ignition.... long story short... all stuff easily repairable yet they totalled it.... and thats with "used parts prices". ah well... they payed me out more than what I payed for the car so I took the money and bought a newer, nicer s2000 and bought a badass clifford alarm and seat locks... and moved out of my shitty neighborhood

Yup, the adjuster did an estimation of $6972 minus the deductible. I call him back and said could you take out the deduc. and give me $6972 and he said he couldn't do anything about it. I told him "look I can just claim the seats and it'll be a little over $8k and under the total because I don't need to do a claim on the top." He got quite and said he will have to do some research on it. You can claim what damage you want am I corrrect? Like not claiming the top and just the seats?

From my understanding:

It is best if they total the car- negotiate the value up as high as possible- above what ever you owe, then negotiate them down as low as possible on the buy back.

You win, although you'll have a vehicle with a salvage title...

Now go buy seats, get a hard top or a new soft top and put the rest of the money in a roth ira and be happy that you hopefully don't owe anything on your S and you have some cash in your pocket...

This can be turned into the best thing that happened to you with your S.

Never accept their first offer- pull up ads from the paper/autotrader even CL to compare it to... anything to get more value out of it...

Good luck!

I settled on a $7500 check to repair the damaged area and now I'm in th process of getting seats and a soft top again. I was looking at the Sparco Tec seats which weight only 16lb if I'm correct. Has anyone ever tried these or know if these fit our car? How about the top also, I need to find a top and was wondering if I could just use the old window and install that on the top instead of getting a whole new top? Any suggestions on seats and where to get a soft top for cheap would be good.
