Shift Knob Question
Hey guys,
Not quite sure is this is the right place in the forum to post this thread. I recently purchased a spoon sports direct replacement shifter for my s2k. I am looking into buying a new shift knob as well. I was leaning towards a weighted titanium knob. I have looked so far into the Voodoo, ARC, J's Racing, and Spoon. I like the voodoo so far because it is heavier (284 grams) compared to J's (240 grams) and cheaper. Some of the local guys have said it is harder to shift into reverse with the voodoo knob and a short shifter installed. Granted, the spoon shifter is a direct replacement so I don't think it is classified as a short shifter. So I was wondering if there was any truth in that with the titanium voodoo shift knob or which knob you guys like.
Thanks,
Chris

I like my aluminum Voodoo knob, but its really notchy since its light. I'm going to be getting a countersunk Moddiction knob. They are right over 1lb, so that seems plenty heavy. He also has prices you can't beat for the quality.

I just wonder if the titanium are as notchy since they weigh more. I like the countersuck look. I just don't want anything that will be a pain to get in and out of reverse with.
I've had a few knobs before. The heavier ones with the weight located at the top of the knob's have all been the best for me. The ball knobs...no matter how heavy always didn't have the same effect due to where its weight was allocated, especially if it was countersunk.
You want a knob sits lower than OEM, but also still uses its weight to help you shift, and find each gear. That is my preference anyways. I'd recommend try some peoples shift knobs out locally and then decide if you like the ball shape, or a more longer "oem" esq shape. There are a lot of well price shift knobs out right now, so take your time to see the design, height, and weight you prefer.
