Wirejock,

Just something to think about when you plan your route...P4 (which is on the way to Cooper's) was one of my favorite Hill Country roads, but the highway dept. has screwed it up w/ by pouring LOTS of gravel on the road as a cheap substitute for real maintenance. Last time I rode there, some of the corners were pretty scary, and one member of our group was involved in a nasty accident due to the road conditions. Shouldn't be as bad in a car, but I'd still be a bit concerned about gravel chipping our paint (assuming it hasn't been fixed since then). It's a shame how they're "maintaining" it, as P4 was like a public rollercoaster.

Chris, was that a section of HWY 71? I'm not familiar with P4. Hope your friend is ok.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone this Friday. This will be the first get together that I've been to in Austin(other than dinner w/ greg,Sondra and svann at hula hut) since I purchased my car on 12/30/00.
I guess the time frame is kinda informal.
I'll be there around 5:00.

Wirejock,

You get to P4 by taking 281 from Marble Falls towards Burnet, & it's on the left ~5-10 miles outside of Marble Falls. It goes through Inks Lake State Park...very scenic!

71 is probably a more direct route to Llano, but on motorcycles we always look for the twistiest roads to get there.

I'll do my best to be there by 6pm! It all depends on my flight out of Dallas and traffic. I will arrive at Bergstrom a little before 5:30p and then jet right over. However, I'll be stook-less since I hitched a ride to the airport this time. I'll catch a cab back to La Feria or else hitch a ride with someone I'm flying back with.

See you guys there! ...that is...if I make it in time!

Hi All,

Well, I am an official stook owner as of today! Yeah. This car is SO FUN to drive. I look forward to joining the group on Friday. If the weather is good on Sat someone is planning a trek right? Just had to tell the Austin crowd there is another Yellow stook on the road ;-) I had to go up and down 2222 several times today after I picked it up. The hardest part is keeping it under 5500 rpms, it is begging me to open it up a little (but I didn't and I won't). Well don't want to ramble... Just an exciting day.

Congrats,

Just wait until after breakin, then it becomes a LOT more fun! I still feel like I'm dreaming every time I get behind the wheel.

Not me, near the Hut tonight

Is there any forums other than this thread where all the Austinites hang out on this site? I see there is a Northen TX forum, but not a Central TX forum. Could we start a Central TX forum?

Anybody know if you can change your UserName. I typed in the "J-S2K" thinking it would just be temporary. What is the deal with the gear below your name? Is it related to how many posts you make to the site?

This is a great site, I've learned a lot about my S2k from this site a ready.
