re: talkabouts - I would really like to pick up one. I don't have one on the way, but I'm sure I could get a *ahem* trial one at best buy or the like for the weekend. I'll go up there tonight to check em out. Any particular model or feature I'm looking for? Also, compatibilities with others?

I haven't 'test-driven' the Xterra yet and be put on the list to get a pair of them - that will take some time, and I think they are quite useful...like...yesterday!

BTW, not posting my number on here, but will certainly send it out to any Houstonites out there via PMs if anyone would like to get together on Sat. or Fri. night.

 

I bought the Motorola 28X (287 or 289?) - ~$90 @ Best Buy. Any FRS should work, but you get more channels, features, etc. as you pay more.

I'm thinking Monte Montgomery @ the Satellite Lounge might be fun Sat. night...for those who haven't seen him, he has to be one of the world's most incredible acoustic guitar players!

The Supra event is all over: HRP in Baytown Fri night (won't be there), Grandsport Speedway in Hitchcock Saturday, near Westheimer/Sam Houston tollway Sat. night, and @ a dyno day Sun.
