Richmond, VA meet
A few of us (VA S2K, AgS2k, myself) are having a small meet in Richmond, probably on July 1st. No route has been determined but it will likely either be in the faw west end or down route 5 to Williamsburg. This is a very informal meet and will likely be 2 to 4 hours (unless we go to Williamsburg) with a stop for lunch.
If you are in the Richmond area, let us know if you are interested.

Well, I'll be flying my jet into Richmond International on Friday evening of the 22nd... does that count? Hehe. Little orange and white airborne version of the s2k.
Anyway, I wish I was stationed in Oceana and I'd be interested (maybe next year). I fly up to Richmond and Norfolk/Va Beach alot since my parents live in Williamsburg. They just moved there from New Orleans last summer. Is route 5 a good run? I usually drive my rental down the interstate to get to their place in Kings Mill.

Mike; You might want to think about heading west. Get a map and check out where Rt. 6 pulls off north of Rt. 29. Follow it until it intersects Rt. 151 then take Rt. 151 south around through Wintergreen, then go north on Rt. 56. My bike riding group does this ride every year. Rt. 56 is very demanding (at speed) and very technical, but fun. You can take Rt. 56 to the B.R. Parkway and go north on the parkway(also a nice ride) to the point that the B.R.P. turns into the Skyline Drive. There is a good place to eat lunch on the side of the mountain overlooking the entrance of the Skyline Drive. From there it's a quick ride to I-64 past Charlottesville then back to Richmond.

Car Guys (carguys.com) runs an on-track driving school at VIR a couple of times a year. I'm thinking of going at some point.
dlrooney, I get down to Raleigh and Southern Pines every so often to visit family. Maybe we can meet up one weekend when I'm down there.
