SoCal Track Day
A few friends and I are looking into renting the streets of willow on a weekday in a month or two. We are not trying to make any money so the race fees would be dirt cheap.
Would any of you be interested? Remember, it`s a weekday.

I'm interested, though I won't be able to be sure until october...have a project that starts mid october, don't know how busy that time will be. Will Willow Springs let us in without rollbar/cage?
Very interesting... so when you say "rent"... does this mean we, a group of S2Ks and whoever else, get free run of the track? Are flaggers, spotters, and timers going to be there as part of the rental or is that our responsibility?
Basically my friends and I are sick of paying $150-? for a day at the track...it`s ridiculous. We have decided to rent Streets of Willow for a day and will probably do it on a regular basis. We are going to limit the number of cars to 30-35 to ensure everybody gets more than enough track time. There will be no timers or flaggers or timers, this is a grassroots operation. Also, to attend, you must have been to atleast 1 other track day. W/out flaggers, we want to keep rookies off the track. I`m not 100% sure, but it looks like race fees should be in the $50-70 range.

Ryan
ps. This will be open to Honda Enthusiasts only. s2000, NSX, and other Honda drivers will be in attendance.

Our S2K's are allowed on the Streets course, but not big Willow. Even so, the officials don't like convertibles like ours without proper rollover protection (well, at least not for tall drivers like ourselves).
Last time I went to Streets with the hybrid folk I think we paid $60 or $80 and it was on a weekend, so weekdays should be even cheaper. We could probably rent a timing system if we really wanted to, but its probably easier to find someone in another run group and hand them a stopwatch and clipboard :-).
Anyways, I'm in Ryan.

details are almost finalized. It will be a bit more than the hybrid day. We don`t want 60 cars. I`d rather pay a bit more and be able to pull off the track to make minor adjustements here and there and not lose all my track time.
