I had a great time @ the HH last night, and am looking forward to a little drive w/ all of you tomorrow. Just wanted to get this thread going so we can swap some ideas for meeting place and route.

I think 4 corners was discussed as a meeting place, which probably means hitting Lime Creek. As much as I love that road, it's probably going to have too much traffic on a nice Sunday afternoon to get very aggressive. After LCR, we could always take 1431 towards Marble Falls, and I know a pretty good loop taking 1184(?) which ends up heading back to 1431 on Nameless Road just outside of Georgetown.

Another option would be to hit some really cool roads off of 71. We could meet @ 360 & Bee Caves, head down Bee Caves, then do Bee Creek (AWESOME road w/ lots of twisties, elevation changes, and great views), back to 71, then some more good roads that go trail along 71 and conveniently end in Spicewood, right next to Opie's BBQ - a blatant ripoff of Cooper's, very good! (or we could just hold off & hit Razoo's later). From there we could either head back, or (my preference) take 281 a few miles and take Hamilton Pool Road back...this is another great road. IMO, this 2nd option will have less traffic & fewer cops w/ comparable roads and good food @ the 1/2-way point.

Let me know what y'all think...

I agree. LCR will have too many people on it. I took Mark aka LIPs2000 down LCR then 1431 to marble falls, then 71 home after last nights get together. I think I can vouch for him in saying he had a blast (he. he. I did too... theres something about driving those sharp twisties in the dark -- probably not the smartest thing a person could do, but it makes it even more of an adrenalaine rush).
OH MY GAWD!!! That was fun!! Thanks to John for taking me! Screw Ashville! I say we just drive up and down wherever we were about 30 times a day!! How does an S2000 owner get any work done in Austin?!?!?! I would have 10K on the odo now if I lived there!!!

Good time and great conversation at the meet. Let me know when and where and I'll be there. Going to post pics of the results of following JD when the roads are wet and dirty!! My beautiful black stooky needs a cpl of baths!

JD: Didn't know if you could see it but I had the biggest sh*t eat'n grin on my face for most of the drive!!

Like Nike says: Just do IT!!

I may try and make it weather permitting - if it's not too windy that is. I've never met any of the rest of you and would like to since I'm likely moving away from Austin soon to a place where I'm guaranteed to have the only S2000 within a few hundred miles. I'll check the forum later tonight to see if a meeting place has been agreed upon.

Since I haven't gotten a lot of feedback, I'll take the lead on the meeting details...let's meet @ 2pm tomorrow, at the Conoco (Circle K until recently) on Bee Caves just west of 360. We'll head down Bee Caves, then 71, and from there we can decide whether to start w/ Hamilton Pool Rd. or Bee Creek. I'm looking forward to seeing y'all there tom. afternoon!
