Track Days in NJ?
Hello,
I plan on doing a track day or two during the course of the summer season and was hopeing that some of you regular NJ trackers could recommend a track for a novice since I only know of two raceways with road courses. I was going to head to English Town but I was advised against that particular road course for novices. I would also have to take that learning session before I get on the track, since I haven't gone through it yet. Please post links or event dates for a particular track.
Thank you.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=759314 Take a look over there. The Delaware Valley Miata club runs a wonderful track day at Pocono Raceway every summer in July, and many S2000s attend. It's great for a novice, since the track is fairly simple and there is always a great group of guys to help you out.

The rollbar decision is typically made by the track, insurer, or even the organizing group.
Some groups will mandate roll bars for all convertibles, others will not. Your best bet is to talk to the organizers of any event you plan on going to and getting an absolute confirmation (preferably with a follow up via email for your records) with that decision.
As Byron (BD89) said - the DV Miata group's event is a very good one for a novice or experienced driver. You should also watch the DV, Mid-A and even Metro NY groups for track days listed in those areas.
You can also search for PDA, NASA or other track day organizers to check their schedules for events in the area.
