Is there a particular reason why the wing is mounted more toward the center than the edge of the trunk?

this... edge of the trunk is stronger.

Also, this wing wind tunnel tested or have any kind of testing other than it fits? What amount of downforce is generated at x speed? has there been any support failures due to no cross support? etc, etc

I prefer the wing mounts more towards the edges of the trunk but my opinion is purely based off of cosmetics there were many track tested wings mounted towards the center

The Voltex Type 7 that's S2000 specific is center mounted and more center mounted than this one and it seems to be the best you can buy for the S2000. It also comes with nice reinformcent pieces that fit in the trunk skeleton to make it extra rigid. I agree though the mounts on the edge of the trunk do look best.

The centrally mounted wing thing is probably a design consideration to ensure that there is equal force distribution over the entire span of the wing and minimum flex due to the negative lift created. If you put the supports towards the edge of the trunk, you create a greater unsupported span in the middle. As everyone knows, the higher the speed, the greater the negative lift generated, which will cause the wing to deflect due to the weight of air being pushed on it. This changes the characteristics of the wings shape, resulting in an improper distribution of the force over the span of the wing. That's my logic anyway.

What I would have been more impressed to see by Bros. MS, would have been some actual CFD simulation results rather than CAD pictures that anyone could have come up with. How well does this thing actually work?

It looks like it's pretty close to the CR wing mounting points. So with CR reinforcement rubbers it could work. I was just curious why they decided to design it this way. I agree about having data. Was this designed using CFD/wind tunnel? Since this is a teaser maybe they have more info when they officially release it.

For voltex wings I thought the type 7 was the only center mounted wing I had a type 2 I believe that was mounted towards the edges now that I think about it the hardtop would make it difficult to mount towards the inside
Will there be a model released for the spoon/rep spoon hard top guys?

+1 for CFD analysis. Although I won't be surprised if there isn't one.

I've never seen any from J's or Voltex either; and those wings sell like hotcakes. Although Voltex does do wind tunnel tests, I've only seen photos and no hard data.
