04-05 AP2 to CR console - how-to
I promise, I searched. I found nothing like a DIY thread. I see HTG list parts and such - but, I want to know what I need to buy since I have an 05 center console in my car. If someone has a link and parts I need to replace, that would be great. I have the CR knob and audio door. I plan to get the boot next. I would like the sliding door to match next. Any advice appreciated! Thanks!
Here are the parts that you will need.
1. 77232-S2A-A52ZD CR cup holder (#7 in the above picture)
2. 83403-S2A-G51ZD Panel for the center console switches (#12 in the above picture)
3. 83414-S2A-A62ZA CR boot (#16 in the above photo)
4. Optional: 06-09 defroster switch to place in the hole in the center console panel since you have an 05. 35500-S2A-Q02. Or you could live with the hole or make a custom plate.
The center console is attached to the tunnel by clips only so you need to pry the console up and it will pop off. Take the shift knob off, unplug the soft top and hazard switch, and the console will come right out. There are a couple of screws that attach the center console switches and cup holder to the center console. The boot is attached via a plastic ring with pegs. The pegs go through the holes at the base of the boot. It is a straight forward install.
