Wait........i put 93 octane in my stock 01' AP1 every fill-up. Is the S2000 tuned for 91 octane from the factory? Every gas station in my city has 93 octane.....should i get it tuned for 93?

Thanks,
Colton
it's tuned from the factory for "at least" 91. If you got higher octane, you're getting more power out of it in simple terms.

You can run much more aggressive settings on the em-u w/the 93 octane. sucks we don't get it out here in cali

well im really liking this e-manage system. and from what it seems its gonna cost me right at 1grand almost. plus dyno time... do dyno shops not have systems to tune on? or if you did that would it not hold it afterwards?

Sense you're into racing I would suggest you get gears before anything else. All you do is find a recommended drivetrain shop, get it installed, and that's it. No engine tweaking , just a solid/simple/always working performance mod. It'll be better suited for the track (torquing out of turns) and safer. But this is just my opinion among others....search around the forums. It's a great source of knowledge.

yeh after seeing that its probly gonna cost me as much to do gears as it will get the e-manage system, i will probly drop into gears first... im liking the hood on your s2k. i got the same one on mine. haha. and from what ive heard, even in every day driving the 4.56 gear is a huge help. and it doesnt hurt mileage or anything. which is a plus considering this is my daily driver too

what about a header? i see people on ebay saying 10-15 hp gains but im doubting that. but even if you gain a few hp. about 3-5 or so? then it be a decent upgrade

Short of upping the boost on an FI car, gears are always the biggest bang for the buck.

Hehe ya I got the hood off of a guy laying low from too many tickets. I have 4.44 gears and traffic/light to light driving was much better plus a little increase in mileage when driven normally.

It's really hard getting any kind of increase with this car. Headers don't do much, infact alot end up making you slower. Here's a few things to look at...

If you want to stay legal:

*Gears 4.56(around $1200 total)

Supercharger CT/V (around $3200 used + $1300/1500 install)

Turbo Kit Greddy offers a carb-legal kit. ($3200+)

*Losing Weight (Ultra-Light rims can shave a good amount of weight) (Single Exhaust can save another 30+ lbs) (lightened Flywheel) Other things you can do yourself for free . Check Race&Competition Section.

Don't care about being Legal:

Turbo Kit InlinePro/LoveFab/Full-Race/etc. Take your pick (Expensive)

Replace Cat with Testpipe

Basically other than Gear/FI. This car responds well to losing weight and it'll become more apparent on the track. Good luck.
