Default 2005 vs 2006+ OEM CAT Difference?

Is there a difference between 05 and 06+? Does anyone know definitively? The part numbers are actually different!

Even if they're different, can I put an 04/05 onto my MY06?

IIRC, the size/shape is different too. So I don't think it will fit like the proper year will fit. It might fit, but I really would not chance it. just buy the right one and do it right the first time.

i might be wrong but i think its angled slightly different and the o2 sensor may not bolt in.if you look at the floor pan where the cat is, its tottaly different between 00-05 and 06-09. ive ran the 06 cat, exhaust & sensor in my04 and they do bolt up together but i dont know if not having the other components will make a difference

FYI: we installed a 2006 Cat on a 2000 with no issues. It bolts right up. We reused the O2 sensor from the 2000.

Okay, I called Science of Speed. They said a 2004/2005 should match up just fine on the 2006+

Also, they said they've done extensive DYNO testing and have said that the factory CAT has almost no negative effect to power output.

Why are you guys replacing cats already? Have they gone bad, or did they get damaged while doing exhaust work?

Just to clarify for those who are wondering... 04/05 CAT does fit 06+. I have an 05 cat on my car.
