Default Which 3M tape you use?

I was wondering which 3M tape is the best to use for spoilers, side skirts, lips etc etc...

I know there has to be one out there designed more for automotive use but i just want to make sure before I go out and try to look for something that might not exist. THANKS

i used the 3m one from the auto stores. it is red until you pull the plastic off. i liked it because it wasnt to thick to be showing between the parts.

does it hold well once it gets wet? We are having troubles with the parts coming apart after the rain

Don't be confused with the 3M double-sided tape, that is actually grey, versus the clear stuff.. They both look identical on the roll, with the red protective plastic. To determine the difference just hold the package up to some light in your local auto parts store, and see if it's clear or grey

The grey/red stuff is the best for just about anything on our cars.. unbelievable tack!! The clear/red stuff is more ideal for flexible mounting solutions, but doesn't provide anywhere near the same amount of 'tack' or stickiness that the grey/red does.. Both are safe for rain though.. I think the grey stuff is slightly more expensive.. Like about $9 roll, versus $7 roll for the clear stuff.. Both come in the same widths/lengths though.

Good luck!

yup you can find that stuff at any auto parts store. i used the gray stuff on my car. clean both surfaces with denatured alcohol first and then heat both areas lightly with a heat gun or a torch and your in business

blow drier and pull gradually. i used a credit card to help get it going.

hope it helps. i put way too much tape on the first time, took three friends pulling to take it off haha
