Default 4.44?!

okay so my differential kinda shat out on me, something with pinion, I'm not educated in this. So i was thinking since oem 4.10 assembly is going to be EXPENSIVE i was thinking bout science of speed 4.44. This is my daily so i dont want 4.77.

opinions? comments?!

You can pick up a used diff for about $500 (average), and the swap isn't too hard to do yourself.

But...I did love my 4.56/Comptech setup in my AP1

depends how much you can tolerate. i coudnt live with 4.77 because i do a lot of highway driving. 4.44 is very livable. but then again im in an ap2. which would probably like have 4.56 in an ap1.

Do the gears! I loved my 4.77s but like Ans its not for highway driving.

You could pick up a used diff on here but I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself unless you are familiar with backlash and the such. Give Puddaddy a pm he is the guru on here.

I wouldn't run it as my daily. If anything I would go lower, say to a 3.9.

3.9 would make u slower. and having 4.44 does not lower your mpg. and it doesnt seem to be much louder either.

Geez!
I can't beleive the mods to your S......it is a race car that
happens to have a license tag!

Totally respect the direction you took..keeping it an NA bat-out-
of-hell instead of going the FI direction.

Is there anything you don't like about the 4.44 for your AP2?
Or just all positives?

pretty all positive. cruising at 70-75 which is about 4k to 4.3k isnt so bad. but when i do speed around 80+ when i am in a hurry, the rpm is really high up there. if u get 4.44 gears, you will lose top speed in each gear. i would definitely recommend getting flash pro and raising rev limiter to 8.5k so you wont lose that top speed in each gear.

thanks man. yea its a lot of money that i have spent on this thing.

Horrible advice! lol Unless you are going for like 500+whp.
No reason not to go up to 4.44's at all. Will make the car more fun to drive for sure!
I had 4.77's when I was NA and loved them. Highway and city driving.
