Default 4.56/7 Final Drive

So i have used the search to try to find this but all of the threads are from 5+ years ago. Hardtop guy no longer sells them from what i can tell and neither do any of the vendors. I believe you can use one out of some Kia cars and my question is. If i were to do all the work my self after going to a pull-your-own parts junkyard, How much would i spend all day including the fee for the junkyard? Also if there is a better(cheaper) alternative than the pull-your-own junkyard i am open to basically anything. thanks

Your best bet is buying them used, I actually happend to run across this last night. If you really want them I would jump on this right away, they rarely go up for sale.

^I agree. Neither the 4.56 or 4.57 ratio are made anymore so if you find a set used you pretty much need to jump on it lol.

the gear ratio that works from a kia is a 4.77... If you search you will find what they come out of and what years, but I would not plan on going to a junkyard and finding a ring and pinion in perfect shape. I dont know why you would even bother with that when you can get them new for so cheap.

I just had Science of Speed rebuild my diff with new 4.77s as my old 4.77s were about to fail and it was roughly $1200. That was with me bringing them the diff out of the car and having them replace everything except the LSD.

I doubt they are weak...especially since most were sold cryo coated. I think there should be a Kia part number for the 4.77 gears floating on the forum somewhere. get those and get them Cryo treated and your golden.

Just get the 4.44 from GT motoring and call it a day.
