4 Point Seat Belt
Is it possible to put 4 point seat belts in a stock interior? Is an after market roll bar the better way to do it? I had a Cobra replica with a 5 point seat belt set up that made it much easier to drive enthusiastically by not having to hang on to the steering wheel. It was a lot easier to finesse the steering inputs.
This is the only thing ive seen that would work i believe https://balladesports.com/products/b...op-harness-bar
I also want to add you should be buying anti-submarine 4 point harnesses. It won't help you get on any tracks here in the South, but atleast your better protected in a wreck on the street. Bonus you can find these used I bet pretty easy considering most people who buy them sell them or trash them for proper race harnesses (5/6 point).
The car is not going to be tracked. How should I mount the anti submarine belt ? To the seat frame or a mounting point on the floor? I'm thinking that the Ballade set up is at least as strong as the 3 point factory set up. My s2k has a quick release steering wheel set up. I was wearing a 5 point seat belt in my Cobra when I got t-boned by a Chevy Tahoe. One small bruise on my left knee. The lady in the Tahoe had some problems with her wrists from the air bag going off. A lot of air bag set ups only work on frontal collisions. I'm not sure about the s2k air bag arrangement.

As a disclaimer, I have no personal experience on this, but I did a lot of researching because at one point I was considering buying a 4pt harness for the street. Make sure to do your own research thoroughly.
At the time I had a quick-release steering wheel and bucket seat, but no aftermarket roll bar yet. Without the use of an airbag because of my aftermarket steering wheel, I figured there must be something safer than the factory 3pt. I came across a few products and if you are considering a 4pt, make sure it has ASM, Anti-SubMarining technology. Basically, it's an extra flap of material sewn into the inboard shoulder that helps to prevent your body from going underneath the lap belt in a crash. This works from the force of a crash, the sewn-in flap would break off and would allow your body to rotate just enough just like a 3pt harness would.
I was highly considering Schroth's ASM 4pt, as they have gone through testing and it is technically street legal (check your local laws) as it operates in a one-click operation, for release and engagement of all harnesses. But, by the end of the day, I decided to stick with the factory 3pt. There were other factors that made me decide this, my Recaro harness holes are too low on my shoulders for harnesses to properly sit, I didn't have a rollbar, so that was extra cost. I would not trust Ballades "OEM" harness bar at all, if you are going to run a harness, do it properly with a roll bar that has a harness bar. You also need to have an aftermarket seat with harness holes, I would not use harnesses in OEM seats.
Honestly, simply buying a bucket seat would help greatly with any kind of spirited driving. I have the Recaro Pole Position, a great compromise for street and track use, as the bolsters aren't that high, so getting in and out isn't a huge chore, but high enough to hold you into the seat comfortably (I used to daily with the bucket seat and do long drives). My bucket seat is hands down my favorite mod, I think it's more comfortable than OEM, lower seating position, changes the dynamic of driving, and holds you in nicely during canyon runs and track events even with the factory 3pt.
Hopefully, the links below help your decision, I am not sure if the product link works for the S2000, I choose it to help explain ASM.

And pic of my setup, yes I ended up getting a roll bar (it is also padded). As I have been tracking more often, I am considering a 6pt harness and run with a Hans device, and removing my bottom seat cushions, but keep my 3pt for the street.

I used to have the Schroth 4 points with the one-click operation in my E30. It had a welded-in half cage, and professionally installed harnesses. I would STRONGLY advise AGAINST running any kind of harness other than stock on the street, or otherwise without wearing a HANS device. The stock belts are designed with a certain amount of give, to "cushion" and let the upper body roll/twist forward in a way that reduces strain on the neck. A harness will not allow for any of that body movement, and the only thing not restrained is your neck, so it whips forward violently in a frontal collision without the added support of a HANS device.
I wrecked my E30 while street driving and discovered how painfully it damaged my neck.
Do 4 and 5 point harnesses feel like a beautiful hug from your car? Absolutely.
Because Racecar? Check.
However, for regular street driving I would advise sticking to the stock belt. Your body will thank you.
Just my experience. I'm sure others will have more/different input!
